Right Action

When truly being honest we must ask ourselves if what we think we are ‘doing’ is correct.

Correct is somewhat misleading.

Of course there could be nothing ‘wrong’ with what we are doing at all.

Wrong in the sense that from an outward viewpoint the action we are embarking on appears to be legitimate and for a plausible reason.

Take this note, however ~ if what we are doing is acting out a reactive mechanism what we are in fact doing is ‘wrong’ from a position of logic.

What do I mean?

1000 Days in Paris-35

I mean you are not choosing to act – you are reacting.

By the very fact you are reacting you are bound and identified within the construct of the very act itself and cannot distinguish free will from the said, identification.

Thus what you are ‘doing’ is wrong, logically.

Think for a minute. Think about this. Consider, before acting whether we have made a simultaneous choice of beingness where we are totally impartial to the given choice of action.

It is always wise to consider whether we can ‘be or not be’, simultaneously, prior to doing. If we cannot be, then do, then surely we will never have.

Havingness if truly understood encompasses the idea of ‘not having’ – as logically you’ll see that the point is to be free of something, not to be bound by it. By being able to assume a position of not having simultaneously as well as having, we are freeing ourselves from attachment.

So perhaps we need to think again on whether we truly are correct?

The existence of Freedom

Freedom, it is said can only exist within certain ‘bounds and limitations’.(1)

But what does this mean?

Surely, freedom… is, exactly that. Freedom must be an absolute… isn’t it?

Or is it..

Freedom, if we focus on it, has within it the opposite, which is not being free.

That is, if we are identified with freedom to the exclusion of non-freedom. Therefore, if we are trying to be free and running away from something we trying to be free of, then we will create, through resistance,(2) the very non-freedom which we are trying to escape from.

Thus, freedom, in this situation can only can exist when we are in a state, where there is a situation being free from a state of not being free. Thus, no freedom at all.

What is the solution?

We must maintain a countenance of the willingness of being free or not free with the same degree of impartiality, whilst, simultaneously seeking to free ourselves of any restrictions. ie Desire vs Desirelessness.

The Buddhists, whom, in my opinion only half understand the emptiness perspective seek freedom as emptiness. They are free because they focus on nothing, and even the concept of being free is simply discarded. But how is this true freedom. Emptiness is merely an escape from being full, or non-empty.

In other words, the Buddhists are simply focusing on one side of a duality and have not taken the position of universal responsibility of all things being encompassed.

Thus, freedom can only exist within certain confines and limitations of duality, but beyond thought, freedom most certainly exists to the degree we are able to encompass the dualities of life; ie being free vs not being free, emptiness vs non-emptiness.

Are we in a situation where we will always be forever learning? Perhaps, yes. But we can do so within the concept of ever expanding parameters of freedom, not from a position of perpetuating one small bubble of perceived freedom where we never progress.

Encompass the concept of being free, or not, with the same degree of impartiality.

(2) Resistance is where is focus on something and the do not want the other side, so we exclude it. ie we want to be loved, but do not want to be not loved. The problem is, that in our minds the resistance is what we focus on and create the thing we which do not want. Take this example explained further – I want to be loved, but because I acknowledge that I am not being loved I try to create something to solve the problem of not being loved. I focus on not being loved as the underlying pattern. No matter how much I focus on being loved I keep creating it’s opposite. That is until I can be willing to be both with the same degree of impartiality.

Parental Musings

The most common thing I observe with parental behaviour is the persistence to continually try to manipulate their children into ‘doing’, what they think they should be ‘doing’.

Stop for a moment and consider the word ‘doing‘.

The common underlying word pattern nested below the behavioural pattern goes something like; ‘if you don’t do this, then I will do that‘.

I’m asking myself the question here as I sit watching my son do swimming lessons;

what if we treated our kids like intelligent beings, and we were just more patient?

Let me dig deeper, if I may. Several kids were waiting to swim listening to the instructor give some pre-swimming instructions.

One of the kids jumped up quickly and crowed like a chicken.. or perhaps a frog. I thought; ‘what is he doing?’.. which is besides point .. right? Or is it…

The kid sat down in an instant and continued to listen.

From across the room the Father said; ‘if you don’t sit down, I’ll take you home‘.

Of course the Father has probably said that many times and the reality is… he is not going to take him home, he knows… the little boy sure as hell knows it!

This pattern or rather reactive pattern, is one of the most preponderant patterns I’ve observed with parents. It often is the most justified making it deeply reactive and deeply hard to overcome.

Parents; assume a position of desirelessness, to be or not to be, focus on the word patterns, then  choose without resistance to do what you want to do without reaction, condition, or direction, which of course encompasses not doing what we want to do, which then leads us to have or not have our desired outcome.

Focus on why we are reactive and seek to purify rather than justify ourselves.

Spiritual advancement, or the growth of intelligence doesn’t happen in some far away place, away from family and friends  – it is an archetypal metaphysical polymorphism right in the moment.

It happens on the coal face right in everyday life, we just need to be willing to see it.

So the question is; what happens if we are more patient and what happens when we choose to become more intelligent.. and what happens when we are more patient, rather than reactive is listening and encouraging or kids, rather than trying to manipuate and control them.

My guess, is treating them more intelligently, makes them so.

Identification of Gender

Funny that you (The Hill) call it ‘discriminatory'(1) in forcing a given gender to go to their own bathroom.

Problem with this political correctness is that is justifies and maintains the deep reactive patterns that perpetuates the reactive identification of one gender perceiving it is another – which is a mental derangement.(2) Mkooiiiii

The reality is that we are ‘born’ a certain gender. No matter how justified it may appear, the process of identification with one end of a given duality to the exclusion of the other is a fundamental flaw originating in the Mental Body.(3)

As the mental duality gains momentum through desire and will it takes on an emotional factor for, which, as a result of then resonating with the morphogenic field then has a corresponding affect on the physical body.

To reverse this, the process of the Healing Crisis must begin, by gaining control, in reverse order of the physical, emotional and mental bodies which, upon its resolution will see a correction an realignment with the natural pattern of the entire being.

Enjoy – and have some fun out there.

The Repeater

I recently read an article – ‘In the Footsteps of Ansel Adams’.

I thought to myself as I perused this article. I wonder if this is a once off – or has this person hitched themselves to the shirt tales of someone else?

Yes, as it turns out they had. Even in the bio section the person claims to ‘follow’ Ansel Adams.

To me this is not what an artist should strive for. Firstly, yes, we should learn from the Masters about ‘technique’. But this is where it should stop.

Some of the Masters have a highly nuanced and mastery of technique honed over a lifetime of work in a specific area, ie  in the case of Ansel Adams – Large Format Photography.C000990-R1-05-6.jpg

The Hat Police

There comes a point, however, where after learning the technique – we trash it and let it go. Then, we use our innate creativity which springs from within the stillness of our own minds to spring forward fresh new creative ideas which we ourselves own.

We should resist and fight against all outward advice, critique (notwithstanding technique), stylistic nuanced comments or inflections about the direction of our artistic enterprise.

We alone make this decision, and we alone are the creator of the thoughts which beat in our hearts and pulse through our mind.

It’s easy to ‘follow’ someone else’s work. Make the hard call to stop following people… and start following yourself.

Enjoy, and keep shooting.

Chinese Philosophy & Duality

I have found the works of Lao Tzu very inspiring, I’ve read a good interpretation of the Tao Teh Ching, love it.(1)

I think that the various Chinese authors tell us progressive ways of looking at life and dealing with the various interplay’s we are all constantly involved with…

Rather than the interpretation, that we act out a certain way of life, it is more, a position we take from a mental perspective that yields the deeper understanding..That is locked within the words of the Tao Teh Ching.

For example, when we look at how the various dualties are explained in the Tao Teh Ching, ultimately it is the mental attitude that is of ut most importance…

Rather then not striving to achieve goals, which I think is a misinterpretation, it is that we come to a position, mentally, of detachment, whilst simultaneously doing everything we can to achieve these desires.. For example.

Thus we come from a position of Desire vs Desirelessness. The misinterpretation from the majority of the Buddhists is that they see Desirelessness only. In reality, encompassment is the path the freedom of duality, not exclusion of one side, to the identification of the other.

Ultimately it is the application from a mental perspective these principles that yield up the reactive content within the crystals for transmutation .. Reading books like these provide a great trigger point for us to apply.

What are Ethics?

When asked in a Law class recently I thought this was a sound answer, this was my opinion;

The aggregate of the subjective viewpoints, of a societies perception, of their inherent values.
